Ideal for a 240 litre wheelie bin and 4 recycling boxes, this storage unit from Garden Village is built from Redwood responsibly sourced timber. This timber has also been pressure treated, which is a premium wood preservative to help protect the wood from the effects or rot and insect damage.
All the compartments are fully enclosed, as unlike some alternative bin stores the Garden Village range have wooden backs to the compartments.
Number 1 tip - do not rush to assemble until you are sure the base you are going to sit it on is level - if like me, you start without doing this, you may find by the time you get to the far end, nothing is straight. The instructions advise this clearly but I can confirm it is essential as if not you will have to start again or end up with doors that aren't straight or don't close properly. The spirit level is essential with this job.
The actual product is good - the finish is pretty poor tbh, lots of rough edges and splinters. If you want a smooth finish you would have to spend a lot of time sanding and tidying up.
The instructions are strangely obtuse - there are some important features to note such as the specific orientation of some parts which the manual doesn't mention and hardly shows in the diagram - I don't understand why manufacturers don't put more effort in to clarifying build instructions.
Once built it is a useful storage space - the lid can be linked to the bin lid so opening one opens both which is useful.
I had all the screws and parts - nothing was missing.
The width of the recycling box storage is slightly too shallow to be able to house two boxes on the same shelf which is annoying as it would've then been possible to store 4 boxes in one unit but this is a minor point.
Once assembled the unit does indeed tidy up your bin and recycling storage.
It is a large unit so measure carefully, especially the depth as you may find your access is restricted compared to before.
I treated mine with clear wood protection although as it's pressured this isn't essential.
All in all I'm happy with my purchase but definitely room for improvement with the product.

Very impressed with the product (and service and delivery) took a couple of hours to put together, straight forward to do. Very good quality, heavy timber, plenty of screws and fixtures.

Quite disappointed with the wood, my fault though I should of looked up Redwood to see how hard it was. The wood was not well treated and soaked up water like you wouldn't believe. Great idea but overpriced for what it is.

The instructions to build this were really confusing and did not make things very clear at all so if you are not great with these or getting a professional to build it then do think twice! Product is also not as sturdy as I would have thought given the price and hard to move when built.
It does look generally ok and does the job but time will tell if it was worth the price.... right now we are not quite over the building of the structure!

The storage container is easy to assemble but had 2 slight design flaws that required slight modification for the lids to close flush. The 2 pieces of timber at the top front of the doors do not fit flush at each end and the middle of the larger piece bowed over the middle wall. However the modifications required a saw and ruler and took 15 min.

Easy to assemble, plenty of extra hardware in case you drop the odd screw. Instructions very simple to follow.
The overall product is good and makes the bins look much tidier.

When will I receive my order?
Delivery Estimates are in working days, and the estimated delivery time for each product is shown above the ‘add to basket’ button on the product page.
Deliveries are mostly prearranged directly with yourself within a few days of placing an order; being booked in directly with a member of the delivery team/carriers. This can help to confirm a working delivery date which is best for you. When ordering, please provide an active mobile phone number to help delivery to be promptly booked in, and to ensure that there is no delay in receiving your order.
Please note, that some smaller items which can be posted or go via small carrier may be dispatched immediately, without contacting you first. If you have any doubts over your order status please contact us.
Will I receive a timeslot for my delivery?
As we use a wide range of carriers for delivery, you may not receive a time slot for your order. With most orders, you would be contacted first to arrange a delivery date, so you know in advance what day delivery has been booked in for. If you know you won’t be available for your pre-arranged day of delivery, please let us know in advance and we can pass this on to the carriers to investigate the possibility of your delivery being left with a neighbour or in a safe place.
Can I choose a specific delivery date within the estimated delivery dates?
Delivery Lead Times are Estimates; if you’re looking to receive a product by or on a certain date, please contact our customer service team before ordering for help and advice.
Is express delivery available?
There may be occasions where we can dispatch items sooner, should there be space available on a delivery run. If you are looking to receive a product sooner than the estimated delivery lead time, please contact us and we can see check delivery availability to see if this is possible.
Some smaller products are applicable for next day delivery. This will be shown in the stock message on the product page, and at stage three of checkout.
If you no longer require an item or if it just isn’t for you, you can return any product(s) as a change of mind within 14 days of receipt of the good(s). This is assuming that the good(s) are unused, in the original packaging, and in the original resaleable condition. Simply contact us at sales@gardenstreet.co.uk for the return address of any items you wish to return.
Please note that perishable goods (such as turf and bulk bags of soil), and made to measure items (Burbage Fencing/Gates/Railings etc) are excluded from return.
