A present for my son and daughter in law came packed on a pallet with instructions inside along with all fixings. Instructions could have been a little more detailed but we managed to build it in around 2 hours whilst dodging the showers. Looks great and they are pleased with it.

The bin store arrived when said. A joiner friend assembled it. It is strongly made, looks good and the only issue were the chains to attach and lift the lid. They are far too short so my son is going to get some longer ones so that they lift the lid high enough to be able to put waste in. All in all, I was very pleased with my purchase, especially as I saved some money in the sale. The delivery was brilliant. I was notified of a date and time which I could choose and a very pleasant gentleman delivered it. Very easy! Thankyou.

Have just finished assembling this. Sturdy, well designed and significantly better quality than most products of its type. Delivered promptly. Relatively easy to put together - the instructions are logical and well set out, although there could be a few more tips for inexperienced DIYers. I called Garden Village’s customer helpline with a couple of minor queries and found them really friendly and genuinely helpful. Pleased we chose this make.

We are so pleased with the waste bin storage.
The wood is solid, as are the black fixtures, and it has a full back panel.
It does the job very well, hiding the bins from sight. No missing parts. Great delivery.

I would not recommend this product if you're looking for a durable and long lasting product.

Bought this bin store in 2019, the initial set up was poor and that should have alerted me to a what kind of product it was but I decided to keep it and see how it goes. It was not good because the wood pieces did not fit, the locks do not line up and neither does the lid. 3 years later the wood is snapping, the wood is becoming further warped and now we can't open the door to the bin store.

Unfortunately it does not help with customer service, who have said its out of warranty so I will have to pay for the repair. I agree, it is out of warranty but why does such an expensive bin store only have a 3 year lifespan?

Positives are: wood looks nice and the dimensions keeps the bins hidden. That's about it.

I'd find a bin store that would last longer even if it was a little more pricey - as now I will be paying double for a product that lasts.

I had conducted a fair amount of research before opting for the Garden Village bin storage unit, and was surprised at the broad range of pricing, especially when so many of the products I viewed looked pretty "rickety" (and that's being charitable)! I opted for the Garden Village bin store because of the reasonable price point, relative quality (though it can be difficult getting a decent view online) and favourable feedback.

I am relieved to say that I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the product; it really is a great bit of kit, and succeeds in looking good while hiding my tatty bins! It's not a single-person build - I knew that before I bought - but it's relatively straightforward to pull together. All of the individual pieces - from the wooden doors, sides and tops to the metal handles - are of good quality, and I am confident that the store will last through a great number of years.

In summary, I am extremely happy with the GV bin chest, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quality product at a decent price.

The bin chest was very easy to assemble (I did this myself, even though I am not a great DIY'er!)

An excellent product. Very sturdy, easy to use when built. The ‘chain lids’ work really well. It transforms ugly bins into a very smart and classy piece of garden furniture. Quite a job to construct for an amateur with one or two little bits of trimming required, but well worth it when completed. Excellent value for money compared to commissioning a bespoke item.

The bin store was easy for 2 people to put together and looks exactly like the picture. Much tidier view of the bins now. The only negative is that the lids are heavy when attached to the actual bin lid and if not physically held up instead of just pushed up and back they can fall. As one did on my husband.

I would write a review, at this second time of asking, if the product had been delivered. I should point out that the delivery date is not due until sometime in June, so this constant request for comment appears annoying. Maybe better liaison between dispatch and marketing would be in order, a relatively simple task in keeping customer satisfaction at a high level.

Looks great, good quality wood although some of the boards split. It needs to be secured to the ground (something I didn't do as I did not want to damage paving slabs) as any movement puts the doors out of place and the bolts do not close. My advice would be to assemble it, put it in the final position and add the ironwork and locks last.

The bin stores are well designed, they are made from good quality timber and the finished items look great. These have a back to them, unlike many other designs which must be located against a wall or fence. The delivery was on time and the delivery driver phoned me to ask exactly where I wanted the pallet to be placed. I haven't had that courtesy from any other courier.
However, the products are let down by the poor spec of the hardware supplied. Certain screws broke, the hinges sag significantly so I had to remove and refit the door having compensated for sag. The 15mm wide right angle brackets are too flimsy for such heavy timber sections, so the finished bin store can still flex a bit. For certain applications I ended up using some of my own screws which were a size up and thus stronger than those supplied. The locking bolts are not particularly robust.
Assembling the kit was relatively straightforward, the instructions are good. A useful tip is to do a "dry run" because some parts have a right way and a wrong way to assemble. It took a few hours to assemble, and the finished item is too heavy and bulky for one person to lift.
The kit is good, it would have had 5 stars, only the hardware let it down.

However the manufacturer phoned to confirm what size was actually required as this mistake has happened before.

A very nice looking sturdy unit. I managed to put this up myself but took 7 hours so for speed it is a 2 person job! A lot of extra screws bolts and handles come with the item so don't worry you haven't used them all.
Definately take the time to go online for assembly instructions and only follow these. my paper copy was extremely basic and missed 1/2 page and the online / paper version are different as well.

A further point, where the bins have no front handles, i find that a strong bulldog type clip on the edge of the lid worksvwell and also makes for less hassle when moving the bin from the store. A benefit being the lack of need in approaching the Council for permission to drill their bins
